Having a picnic

Hello my lovely friends,

Grab your blankets and towels; we are going to the lakeside. I have just decided to enjoy those lovely late summer days and that I am going to have a great picnic with the whole family.

There are many great delicacies suitable for a picnic – and there is always something for everyone. How about a fruit salad? Currently there is a big variety of regional fruits, like apples, pears, grapes and plums. However, you can also make vegetable sticks from carrots, cucumber, radishes and in addition some sandwiches.

I also have another recipe for the foodies out there:

Puff Pastry Rolls

With just a few ingredients, you can easily prepare the tasty puff pastry rolls yourself. All you need is:

  • 2x puff pastry rolls from the refrigerator
  • 1 ½ cups of sour cream
  • Parsley
  • Salt/Pepper
  • 1x egg yolk
  • Ham
  • Grated cheese

 

First, you prepare a creamy mixture with the sour cream, parsley, some salt and pepper. Then you roll out the puff pastry; spread the creamy mixture on it and place the ham as well as the cheese on top.

Now you have to roll up the dough again carefully and from the long side. There must not be too much hollow space as otherwise the rolls will become very large when baking. In a next step you have to cut 0,5 cm thick slices and place them on a baking tray with baking paper.

Don’t place them too close but leave a little space in between, because the ‘snails” will get bigger.

For a nice glossy finish, you have to put the egg yolk with a brush on the rolls and then put them in the oven at 170° for about 10-15 minutes.

It smells soooo good! I am so excited about the picnic. 🙂
