Toy Fairs take place regularly in different cities all over the world and throughout the whole year. There is no “typical” toy fair as each one is different in its own way. This means that they have different emphasises respectively target groups. They may also vary in their size concerning the number exhibitors or the origin of the exhibitors.

At first, being an exhibitor also means a lot of work:

  • Preparation: Which fairs are interesting for us or would suit to our product range and can be realised?
  • Planning: Which items are going to be exhibited? What size should the booth have? How do we structure the booth?
  • Logistics: You have to pack all the articles and organise the transportation to the different fairs
  • Organisation: You have to book accommodations and flights.
  • Installation: You have to build up and decorate the exhibition stand.
  • Exhibition: This is always a tough but impressing time for everyone.

However eventually all this effort is worth being part the toy fairs as you will always meet long-lasting and new partners, you can exchange experiences, you get new impressions and you get in contact with new people.

We regularly take part in various toy fairs and present our articles as well as our company.
Depending on the toy fair’s size and location, we decide on the size of our stand as well as the number of employees needed at this time. This varies and starts with a very small booth with only two people up to an exhibition stand of 250 m² with (almost) all the sales staff.

Deauville 19.11.2018 – 23.11.2018

We already started in November 2018 with the fair called „Jouets & Jeux PreShow Noël“ which takes place in Deauville, France. The French colleagues from the affiliated company “Jouets Klein” presented our company at this fair.

Within five days, starting on 19.11.2018, the manufacturers and buyers had the chance to meet and exchange experiences in the exhibition area at the Royal Barrière Hotel and International Centre of Deauville (CID).

One of the main part of this fair is Networking and Communication. Therefore, social activities (shared meals during the day or cocktails in the evening) and sufficient time during the individual appointments are highly valued.

We have already participated several times in this wonderful show where we have a room to exhibit our product range and to welcome buyers and discuss new and long-lasting cooperation.

Hong Kong07.01.2019 -10.01.2019

After only a short Christmas break some colleagues set off again to Hong Kong to attend the “Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair 2019“.
It was the 45th time that this fair took place and for us it was the 21st time that we participated.

The Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair is the largest toy fair in Asia. The latest products especially from the fields like baby toys, sports equipment, electronic items, learning software and mechanic toys are presented every year.

Around 2110 exhibitors were present this year and one of them was Theo Klein. J
On a relatively small booth, we presented our highlights and bestsellers produced in China.

At the same time, our sales teams for Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Latin America and USA were working in our Hong Kong showroom to welcome further customers.

Another personal highlight is surely that we get the chance to spend some time together with the colleagues from Hong Kong, as we hardly meet each other.

London 22.01.2019 – 24.01.2019

One team just returned from Hong Kong and another team was getting ready for the next fair. Mid-January, our sales team for England made its way to London to the “Olympia Toy Fair”.

This fair is with its 260 exhibitors relatively small. However it is also the largest fair in England and consequently very important for us.

In 2019, it was the 31st time that we attended this amazing toy fair and we showed up with a brand new stand.

Nuremberg 30.01.2019 – 03.02.2019

By the end of January, we were almost all getting ready for the Nuremberg Toy Fair, which is the largest fair in the toy industry.

Just one week before the fair starts, there is a team on site to prepare everything and above all to set up the stand.
In 2019 not only the Nuremberg Toy Fair is celebrating its 70th birthday, but we also do.
We further had reason to celebrate, as we have been exhibiting at the Nuremberg Toy Fair since 1959, i.e. for 60 years.

In 1959, we started with a moderate stand of only 6 m² and an assortment consisting of three articles (children’s brush, hand brush and tin shovel). Over the years, the assortment and, of course, the exhibition stand has grown steadily. For the anniversary, we decided to renew the stand completely. So eventually, we started with a new exhibition booth of approximately 250 m² covering around 400 items.

Unlike the smaller fairs, where only the concerned sales teams are present, there are employees from all departments (e.g. product development, import, quality & safety and bookkeeping) in Nuremberg. Whereas most of them help at the stand and have appointments, others listen to different presentations or just look around.

At a fair with around 2800 exhibitors, there is always a lot to discover.

New York 16.02.2019 – 19.02.2019

After one exhibition is before the next one.

Although the last weeks have been exhausting, our sales team for America started their next trip in mid-February. This time, Big Apple was calling to attend the “New York Toy Fair”.

As we have not attended this fair within the last few years, we decided to change this again in 2019. Within the last years, we were happy and grateful that one of our American distributor exhibited some of our items.
However, in connection with the Theo Klein anniversary, we took the exhibition at the New York Toy Fair again in our hands so we could also connect with some new and very interesting contacts.

Milan – 06.05.2019 – 07.05.2019

Only a few weeks later, in May, we got ready to attend “Toys Milano” in Italy. This is a national specialised fair for toys, baby equipment and carnival’s equipment.

“Toys Milano” is a comparatively new fair that only took place the fourth time in 2019.

In cooperation with or Italian representative, it was the first time for us to take part in this fair. Our main objective was to show our range and get more famous on the Italian market.

Bielefeld – 08.05.2019 – 09.05.2019

For the time being, the last fair we exhibited was at the family-oriented fair called “EK Fun”, in Bielefeld (Germany).
There you can find the assortment of EK, their cooperation partner “Vedes” and other industrial partner.

EK service group is an alliance of several sectors that organises its own fairs every year.

Unlike to the other fairs, this one is a so-called ordering exhibition. This means that the distributors / traders / retailers can directly place their order and benefit from special promotions. Usually the merchants know the range of the exhibitors before and therefore the stands are rather small.

In addition to the own exhibition stands there are also various subject areas where items of all exhibitors are shown together.

Our sales team for Germany had a lot of fun within these two days and could convince with great promotions.
